Notes

pattern made by Lorenzo based on leg measurements
also made garters from same wool (see more pictures)
might add some embroidery on the garters at some point in the future
Want to try a different pattern that doesn't cause quite so much bunching on the ankle. Also need to adjust the pattern. Leg and top of foot was far too large, and sole was too small. Because the sole is small, I had to trim the excess close to the seam. I can wear thin cotton socks underneath them for comfort, and handwash them to extend their life.

Success!

I wore these wool stockings all day at MidWinter A&S. They never itched, and they never slipped down. My legs stayed pretty warm. I wore a pair of thin cotton socks underneath. My feet were cold, but that is just my odd nature. The only problem I had was when dancing. I forgot to change to my dance shoes, so as my regular shoes would slip off my feet the sole of the stocking would slip around the bottom of my foot. The dance shoes stay on my securely, so the stockings do not shift when dancing. Otherwise, I would call these stockings a success!
